Position opening in Somerset County

Somerset County Soil & Water Conservation District (SCSWCD) is looking for an Outreach/Social Media Coordinator Year-Round Part-Time Position

The qualified candidate must have excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills, the ability to work well independently and to be a team player. Must be proficient in social media software and skills as well as competency with internet functions, Microsoft Office Suite, and website management. Natural resource education, training, or experience is a bonus. The successful applicant will work closely with the Districtís Executive and Technical Directors, a volunteer Board of Supervisors, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) agencies at the Skowhegan, Maine, Service Center as well as various agencies and organizations that the District collaborates with. Hourly pay rate to be negotiated with successful applicant.

Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District sponsors programs, workshops and educational programs throughout the year teaching people to be better stewards of the environment. One example of that is the that FCSWCD has been participating in for the past several years.

The Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District is a Not-For-Profit Organization. Proceeds from our fund-raising efforts are used for our Educational Programs and to promote conservation and the wise use of our natural resources. Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District serves a varied audience within Franklin County, and provides services which no other organization provides, such as road maintenance workshops, LURC and DEP permit reviews and assistance, Erosion and Sediment plans and outreach on preventing erosion issues, outreach to students on natural resource issues and many other projects.
