Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District's Mission is to address the voluntary conservation of natural resources for all citizens by providing technical assistance and educational programming.
Positive Impacts of FCSWCD include:
The District provides educational workshops on various natural resource topics to farmers, woodlot owners and the general public.
The District provides technical assistance and/or referrals to farmers, woodlot owners, and the general public.
The District partners with other natural resource agencies, non-profits, and private businesses to promote the wise use of Maine's natural resources.
Our most important source of funding is gifts from people like you! And your help is tax deductible.
Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District sponsors programs, workshops and educational programs throughout the year teaching people to be better stewards of the environment.
One example of that is the that FCSWCD has been participating in for the past several years.
The Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District is a Not-For-Profit Organization. Proceeds from our fund-raising efforts are used for our Educational Programs and to promote conservation and the wise use of our natural resources. The Franklin County SWCD is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District serves a varied audience within Franklin County, and provides services which no other organization provides, such as road maintenance workshops, LURC and DEP permit reviews and assistance, Erosion and Sediment plans and outreach on preventing erosion issues, outreach to students on natural resource issues and many other projects.

Erik M. Stumpfel, a local attorney, has catalogued over 100 waterfalls in the southern part of Piscataquis,
and he is finding more all the time.]

Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District is a quasi-state not-for-profit agency that relies on grants, sponsorships, advertising, donations, and money raised from fundraising events for its funding to support our educational environmental conservation programs. We are not a state, federal or county agency. We need the help of your tax deductible contributions.
